Victor Bohbot first arrived in Mauritius in April 2014 to join Vatel Business School, a hotel management school. He chose Mauritius for its excellent environment in the hospitality and tourism sector. The island became a place of encounters and opportunities for him, where he benefited from the kindness and experience of Mauritians throughout his professional experiences.
Today, after more than 8 years in Mauritius, Victor decided to “give back what Mauritius has offered him” by creating Digital Bonsaï. This company aims to train Mauritians and outsource a maximum of digital projects from Europe to Mauritius. He considers Mauritius the best destination for this, thanks to its stable and modern infrastructure, which provides international visibility and reassures clients. Mauritians are recognized internationally for their digital skills, are multilingual, determined, and possess unparalleled kindness.
Digital Bonsaï is a collective of Mauritian tech experts whose objective is to simplify the management and implementation of digital projects. It also plays a major role in education: an agile, personalized, and innovative academic model has been developed to train the next generation of Mauritian tech experts. The company promotes knowledge sharing, solidarity, and equal opportunities in digital education, hoping to train many Mauritians who will then have the chance to work remotely with international companies. This will allow them to acquire new technical skills and leverage their locally recognized international competencies, such as agility and linguistic skills (French, English). Furthermore, the island benefits from optical fiber and a minimal time difference, optimizing performance with European clients.
Additionally, Victor mentions that his mother will join him next year for her retirement in Mauritius. She appreciates the island for its safety, its preserved and protected environment away from big city pollution, as well as the kindness, helpfulness, and cultural mix of Mauritians.
